The place is peaceful and relaxing. What normally makes the difference is the people, and todays Star is Mr.Philippe Bllnchard, where he was clearly focused on the customer’s experience and ensuring that its at the center. So we thank him for his dedication and diligent effort

As a family of three, we booked two interconnected superior double rooms. We approached the visit with an open mind, mindful of some reviews commenting on the state of the hotel. The building is impressive in style and location, and the check-in was functional. It is evident that the interior, while still impressive, is seriously in need of an upgrade, as evident from the state of the carpets leading up to the rooms. The two rooms (207 and 208), while identical in size and layout, could not be more different, room 208 was fine (apart from a severely damaged door), but 207 was a disaster, with the following problems: 1) Broken door/hinge of cabinet housing the minibar; 2) broken bathtub outlet; 3) broken drawer; 4) broken electricity outlet with exposed wires; 5) gaping hole in wall at entry where entry card is inserted. What was most unacceptable however was the fact that the plastic cover over the ventilation outlet in the bathroom came off, and was lying on the floor in several pieces. When we left for dinner shortly after checking in, I made reception aware of these problems, and they undertook to address this. When we came back at 21:00 I was shocked to see that absolutely nothing was done, with the pieces of the cover still lying on the bathroom floor. While I can overlook some of the other issues, the fact that this was at least not removed, together with the exposed wires from the electricity outlet, is simply inexcusable. I raised this issue again at check-out, and while the person on duty listened and agreed that it is unacceptable, not once was an apology of any sort issued. This is certainly not remotely the kind of service consistent with a 4-star hotel. So in essence, based on our experience, you have a 50% chance of getting a room in a decent state, together with some indifferent customer service. I simply cannot recommend this hotel in any way, however much I want to.

fantastic place, wonderful and kind people, clean, quiet. The food wonderful, maybe a little expensive for most of us but worth the money ....It looks like a palace, and really feelσ like home. You feel safe. the breakfasti is wonderful.

The hotel was really good, exceeding our expectations. It is still a grand hotel, designed in the 20’s and 30’s in an art deco style, with the building and furniture showing some art nouveau, Bauhaus and Viennese furniture design elements. The public areas and rooms are therefore really interesting. It is well maintained, clean ( a few small areas could be cleaner), with practical friendly staff. We did not eat there as the breakfast was a bit over our budget at 22 SF per person and the restaurants were closed. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. The room rate was very reasonable. We would definitely return.

Went for brunch today and it was a bitter disappointment. The omelette was tasteless; the orange juice was industrial and full of sugar (we expected it to be freshly squeezed) The mushroom risotto was over cooked The room itself is quite pretty and service is very good Still for the price we paid we expected a higher standard of cooking We left the place bitterly disappointed

We went today for a brunch for 3 people that cost Euros200. The service was very good and our waitress even if she was a trainee. Now the food options were very poor. For sea food, the salmon was OK, the shrimp salad had no shrimps and the tuna was too dry. They only had pre-made scramble eggs with no other options of eggs. Some plates were empty and they did not refill. The three of us left and were very disappointed. We do not recommend this location for brunch

We happened on this fine old hotel during our visit to the nearby jura mountains and were delighted with what we found. A “Grand Hotel” from another era, the building is set in park-like surrounds and has some magnificent Art Deco features which alone are worth a visit. The scale of the public rooms, passageways and accommodations is imposing and must create some housekeeping challenges, and some dating is apparent, but our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed to a standard sadly long lost, post-COVID, from many big brand hotels. Dinner at the Terrace Restaurant, with its crisp white tablecloths delicious food and garden setting made for a great ending to busy days - and the buffet breakfast, served in the same venue was memorable for its abundance, choice and freshness. Staff were courteous and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

From the lukewarm welcome, to the "tired" infrastructure and then changing rooms at 1am, this weekend getaway was far from what one would expect from a 4 star hotel. The staff looked tired and fed-up, some tried their best but the welcome was not very welcoming. The room (a superior room) needed a refresh and the outside and pool look as if they haven't even seen a lick of paint for 40 years. The worst was at midnight when we returned to our room - to find we were on the 1st floor directly above a very very noisy wedding. It was absolutely impossible to sleep it was so loud. When asked reception, they informed us that it was planned until 3am but they can't change our room as the hotel was full. This turned out to be untrue as after a visit to reception, we were "miraculously" found another room far from the noise - but we had to move ourselves as there were no staff about. There were many rooms that still had the "covid" seal on them, so it was far from full. In the morning, embarrassed apologies "but we can't do anything about it" - they could have at least informed us of the party or directly put us in a room far from it. Several other couples also complained about the noise who weren't given new rooms - very poor customer management.

Equipe souriante. Hôtel avec jardin ressourçant (Piscine et Terrasse Petit déjeuner) Très belle piscine d'une superficie idéale pour réaliser de belles longueurs. Elle mériterai d'être peut être moins chauffée en Eté. La déco Vintage pourrait être prolongée de ce côté aussi. Chambre 1er Etage Confort charmante dans son jus. Le lit 160 aurait été appréciable ainsi qu'un vrai sèche cheveux, la totalité des chaines TV. Cet hôtel est bien agencé (intimité suggérée par des espaces bien pensés): Espaces Salon avec petits canapés ( Un livre sur le Vintage, une revue de Design, un petit échiquier ou jeu de société chiné pourraient être bien vus). Concernant le Petit Déjeuner, il est complet, frais et gourmand (Cake, Saumon, Jus et Céréales de qualité). Possibilité d'être un peu à l'écart en toute intimité sur la Terrasse du Petit Déjeuner ou le Spa. Détails attentionnés : Linge et Citronnade en quantité large pour le Spa. Parking gratuit. Valeur ajoutée: Amplitude horaire, Institut de Beauté, Bain Islandais, Salle de Sport et Produits Bain Qualitatifs. Un week end romantique et ressourçant à 2 !
